Creating a Power App Portal form that has an image upload field

I am currently trying to create a Form on a Power Apps portal that is meant to collect information from an outside user. As part of that Form there is a question which asks for an image upload. I have created an image table column but when I add it to the form the data field has a message saying "This record hasn't been created yet. To enable image upload create this record". I have found an article from a year ago saying that Power Apps had no support for file uploads yet, however there was no update or any information on how to workaround this issue for a Portal. Could someone please describe a workaround for this issue for a Power Apps Portal

To resolve this issue, continue to fill in the data in the table. Once you have done that, in the edit view, the upload file icon will appear, allowing you to upload the image.

    I hope this helps

@Daniil-Mat I guess you have done this in Model Driven app This just tells us to enter some values in the above columns and save it first like below:

    before.PNG

Once we entered some values in above fields and save it . It will automatically enable us to upload an attachment as below

    after.png

    Hi @Daniil-Mat ,

Power apps portal underlying datasource is Dataverse. So whenever there is a requirement for file attachment(notes entity) always it gets associated to parent record. Functionality is same as what you see in model driven app.

Only if parent record gets created will be able to create notes with attachment or just an attachment. It can be either image/file upload control or from timeline/notes section.

That is not an issue it is an expected behavior.

for ex: If you want to create notes/notes with attachment/upload file or image for an account entity, first we need to create an account record then notes section/file/image upload will be visible.

I hope it answers your question. If so, please mark it as solution,

    Regards,
    Prakash

    Hi @Daniil-Mat,

Do you want to upload an image as attachment in your portal?

Could you please share a bit more about the scenario?

Actually, it could be achieved by adding the Notes tab.

Open the entity form and select record that you want to attach image, scroll down and find the Add Attach File Section. Tick as below:

After you tick as above and attach file using the Notes tab,you could check in portal, you will see a upload file option. Here you can select the file which you want to upload.

Please remember to submit form to save your attachment.

Hope it could help you at some degree.
