How to add Image field to basic form

Hi there,

I'd like to know if it is currently possible to add an Image column as a field on a Basic Form.

We have a Dataverse table with a column that is of the Image (File) Data Type.  This is a mandatory field for a particular form we need to implement so we would like to add it to the form for users to populate when inserting a new row. If we add the field to a basic, then there is text saying "This record hasn't been created yet. To enable image upload, create this record".

The only way we have been able to achieve the addition of the image field is to implement a multi-step form. However, this is not ideal user-experience and impractical for the particular use-case.

Kind Regards,
Jason.

Hi, by definition we can't add images during the creation of a record.

An option here is to let the user save the form and redirect the user to an edit version of the same form, where they can add the image.

Alternatively, you can use multistep form that would provide a next-next-finish type of form.

@Anonymous. Please follow the below steps to add the Image Field to Basic Entity Form.

    1. Open the table in the Dataverse environment where you want to add the Image field.

    2. In the table design view, click on the "Fields" tab.

    3. Find the Image field and verify whether the below configurations are done.
    4. Configure any additional properties for the Image field, such as display name, description, and format, as needed.

    5. Save the changes to the table.

    6. Navigate to the form where you want to add the Image field.

    7. Open the form in the form designer by selecting it and clicking on the "Customize" button.

    8. In the form designer, locate the section where you want to place the Image field or create a new section if needed.

    9. Drag and drop a new field control onto the section, or select an existing field control to modify.

    10. In the properties pane for the field control, set the "DataField" property to the name of the Image field you created already.

    11. Configure any additional properties for the field control, such as label, visibility, or formatting options.

    12. Save and publish the form changes.

After completing these steps, the Image field will be added to the basic form in Dataverse. When users interact with the form, they will be able to upload or select an image for the Image field.
