Hey everybody,
today I encountered a strange behaviour, which I didn't saw earlier.
I embedded a gallery control inside a datacard of a form and it is not showing any content. When I copy and paste it on the same level as the form, evrything is showing fine.
Is that a bug or intended behaviour? I thought I read something about placing galleries inside other controls, but couldn't find that now.
@cpadole How to make this, can you show a example please.
lol circled back on the same issue as well, I need to start documenting these glitch solutions
Hello, your solution partially work for me. Thanks for that. But in my collection I have several items and it is showing one. Any idea why?
Funny enough, stumbled over this problem today, googled it and dementia me was surprised the first link in google lead me to the question I asked 3 years ago 🤣
Hello everyone.
I know it's been a while since this issue but I think I've found a solution for it that I'd like to share.
The issue is that when you are working inside a form, there is already a connection running, so it seems that Powerapps is not able to handle a new one for the Gallery control, which you have set up inside the Datacard.
The solution that is working well for me is:
- Set in the OnVisible page's property a collection with Collect or ClearCollect, for the items you want to deal with or display in your Gallery.
- Put inside the Datacard of the form, the Gallery control that you need to display.
- Set in the Gallery's Items property, the name of the Collection.
This sequence worked in my form from the very first moment without any problem.
I hope it helps you all.
Just try one thing make collection of data source on screen invisible property and use that collection as a data source of gallary..
I am having this issue too but when i click on your link to see your posted solution i get "access denied". How can I view this?
Okay,
so today starting a new day, I just thought "Just copy & paste the gallery from yesterday, which is now on the page outside the form back into the data card, just for a try." .... and now it's working. This is really strange behaviour.
So what I did was:
1. Add gallery to datacard (items property was from the beginning a sharepoint list and directly set in the gallery) -> did not show anything
2. Copy & Paste the gallery on the page -> Everything works
3. Copy & Paste into datacard -> doesn't work
4. Leave the gallery outside the form
5. Close app & Open app
6. Copy & Paste the gallery into the data card -> works
I didn't touch any property after the initial generation of the gallery... But thanks guys!
