How to add disclaimer in power pages form?

Hello everyone. I am required to create a power page, with a form as the main screen. Customizing the main site has got no issue with HTML using the Visio editor.

However, where and how can I add a disclaimer in the form that I had created?

1) I have tried using the Description but was limited by the number of words that I input.

2) I have tried to add one more section at the bottom of the form, but that does not make sense because the "submit" button is on top of the disclaimer.

3) I have tried using Portal Management -> Basic Forms -> Additional Settings -> under JQuery. However, I can't seem to make the disclaimer show.

Attachment 1.PNG is currently what I wanted to do - making the disclaimer to be above the submit button.

Attachment 2.PNG is the element section which I inspected from my browser.

There are a number of different approaches:

    • Use a multi-line text field (you can increase the number of characters by changing the field definition of the Column in Dataverse)
    • If the text will be static, insert a html Web Resource into the Dataverse form, and on the Basic/Advanced form tick the box to Render Web Resources inline (on the Basic form it is under Form Options tab Additional Settings section. the html Web Resource can be positioned on the Dataverse form with fields above and below it.
    • In the Portal Management App you can add metadata to the Form, and add a metadata tag to a field and use the Description/Instructions setting (saying no to use the field description) to put text before or after a field.  (it is possible your text exceeds this field length)
    • You could build the form from scratch in a Custom Web Template and use the Portals Web API to create/update, this would allow you to position fields exactly how you wanted and intermingle with other HTML.
    • do something like what you did and re-parent the DOM node containing the content using JavaScript/JQuery - just be wary of the user seeing some screen flicker

If you are forcing your users to sign-up/register there are other settings to get them to agree to Terms and Conditions as part of that process also.

    Hi @Anonymous

Please follow the instructions from @Fubar. If you prefer the Portal settings way using GDPR I. I have answered in the below post. Adding it for your reference.

Solved: GDPR and Terms and condition page is showing on ev... - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

    Official Reference:

This method is particularly useful to capture when the user has agreed to the terms and conditions.

It is closely related to your question but useful.

    Hope it helps.

    Hello @ragavanrajan and @Fubar ,

firstly, thank you for your prompt replies. I was reading up closely and for few times, but i realised i could not understand what you two were saying. Will it be possible to simplify the explanations here a little more? I had open up the link, but got lost as I continue reading.

    Hi @Anonymous

Sure. Fubar's reply gives you the solution to achieving your disclaimer text by applying some techniques to overcome character limitations.

My reply points you to achieve your disclaimer text using powerpages inbuilt feature called "GDPR" capturing. The advantage of using GDPR technique is you can capture when the user has agreed to the terms and conditions against the contact record.

NB: GDPR, aka terms and condition, is closely related to the Disclaimer text.

Hope it sheds some light now.

    Hope it helps.
