Power Apps Embedded in SharePoint Asking for License, Even Though Users Have Correct Licenses

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue with embedding a Power App in a SharePoint site. I have created a SharePoint list, integrated it with Power Apps, and built a Canvas App. I’ve shared the Canvas app with my team members, and they have appropriate permissions for the SharePoint site and list. However, when they navigate to the SharePoint page where the app is embedded, they’re being prompted to provide a Power Apps license, even though they already have the necessary licenses.

Here’s what I’ve verified so far:

  • Power Apps License: All users have the correct Power Apps licenses (either per app or per user).
  • App Sharing: The app has been shared correctly with users through Power Apps.
  • Permissions: Users have SharePoint site permissions and permissions to access the SharePoint list that the app is using.

Users are not  able to access the app directly from Power Apps also in the SharePoint site.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Could it be related to how Power Apps licenses are validated when embedded in SharePoint? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Did you check the environment if they have the correct access and security group ?

Power Apps Embedded in SharePoint Asking for License, Even Though Users Have Correct Licenses

    This is a standard message.

The users themselves do not have a Power Apps license. You will need to give them one. As they need access to sharepoint in generak, access to the lists / doc libraries, and they need a power Apps license

Per App is simply one type, such as premium is another.

This would be something that they would have to have. One way to check is to do this.

Have them go to powerapps.com and try to sign in.
If it takes them to the home page, click the Gear in the top right.

    Select Plans
And it will show their licenses for power apps

If they do not have a plan (aka license) or a proper license they will need one.

If this Helps, I'd appreciate if you could mark as resolved and maybe a like :-)
