The semaphore timeout period has expired

I am trying to connect to a dataverse instance in SSMS. We can successfully connect to the DEV environment, but not our TEST environment. When connecting to test, we get an error saying 'The semaphore timeout period has expired'.

 

All the help articles I'm seeing are related to VPN configuration, but we can connect to one environment so I don't think that's the issue. Any ideas?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

     

    This is definitely network and firewall issue.

    Is your Dev environment working fine with the same SQL Server?

    Please see if you opened SQL Server - by choosing Run as Admin.

    As per my knowledge It's not related to Dataverse issue, i think its related to your network issue

    If not try Clearing Cache and Cookies and try again and if the issue still persists try raising MS ticket
