The updated formula bar is now turned on by default for new apps since November 2023 . It can be turned back off in Settings. The feature announcement cheerfully requests "feedback in the community forums."
I welcome the listed function overrides and color formatting, but I find the whole thing unusable until the formula bar size becomes draggable again. It is unacceptable to have only two size options for formula writing: single line or half the screen (covering up the rest of the canvas). Some other users have also mentioned that auto-completing formulas now takes extra keystrokes- I guess because it's mimicking Visual Studio?
Please, Microsoft, keep in mind the UI for all the UI-makers who are trying to build in PowerApps as efficiently as possible.
The new PowerFx is just another example of Microsoft rushing things to production when it's littered with bugs. Why not just wait to release it until you have worked out even simple things? I am so tired of not even being able to hit Tab or Enter and have a practical outcome that is not auto populating my formulas with BS. Then, it's my responsibility to go in and change the default settings and enable the legacy feature because this dev team just pushed unpolished features to production.
That's excellent news, thank you!
Thanks for the feedback, we really do appreciate it. We've actually got a change rolling out right now that will bring back the drag to resize functionality for the Power Fx Formula Bar. You should see this live by the middle of next week.
