Hi,
I am currently building a Power Automate Flow which populates a Word Document through content controls.
The large majority of the document populates fine alongside using the repeating section content control; however where I am having trouble is when using a nested repeating section content control. For reference of what I am trying to achieve:
Heading Scenarios | |||
Identifier | Name | Date | Notes |
A1 | Example Scenario 1 | 01/01/2021 | Zzzzzz |
A2 | Example Scenario 2 | 01/02/2021 | Zzzzzzzz |
A3 | Example Scenario 3 | 01/03/2021 | Zzzzz |
Heading Samples | |||
Identifier | Name | Date | Notes |
B1 | Example Sample 1 | 01/02/2021 | Zzz |
B2 | Example Sample 2 | 01/03/2021 | Zzzzz |
I have created my template as below with the relevant content controls in each section.
However I have also added repeating section content controls on line 3 (beginning with A1) so the individual records will be repeated; and also across the table as a whole (in the hope that the heading scenario will increment as the array feeding the data it changes as in the above example).
Heading Scenario 1 |
|
|
| |
Identifier | Name | Date | Notes
A1 | Enter Name | Enter Date | Enter Notes
However after creating my flow and pulling the relevant information with my variables and arrays; when I use the "Populate a Microsoft Word Template" tool, I am only presented with one repeating section variable to map - my "Header Repeating" which covers the table as a whole; and I cannot seem to map the nested content controls within this.
Am I missing something? or is this not currently supported?
Perhaps there may be another way to achieve this?
Hi @WTPowerA, take a look at Plumsail Documents. Its templates support repeating controls.
Note: It's a paid solution. There is a free trial.
Currently nested repeating controls are not supported.
