How to Fix Quickbooks Keeps Crashing windows 11 after update?

Posted on by

If QuickBooks keeps crashing on Windows 11 after an update, follow these steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

  1. Update QuickBooks: Ensure you're using the latest version of QuickBooks. Go to Help > Update QuickBooks and install any available updates.

  2. Run as Administrator: Right-click the QuickBooks icon and select Run as Administrator to see if elevated permissions resolve the issue.

  3. Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows 11 system is fully updated. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install any pending updates.

  4. Rebuild QuickBooks Data: In QuickBooks, go to File > Utilities > Rebuild Data. This will repair any data corruption issues.

  5. Perform a Clean Install: Uninstall QuickBooks, restart your computer, then reinstall it. Use the QuickBooks Clean Install Tool for a complete removal and fresh installation.

  6. Check Compatibility Mode: Right-click the QuickBooks icon, go to Properties > Compatibility tab, and try running the program in compatibility mode for Windows 10.

  7. Disable Background Apps: Some background applications might interfere with QuickBooks. Close unnecessary programs to see if that stabilizes QuickBooks.

  8. Check Antivirus Software: Ensure your antivirus or firewall is not blocking QuickBooks. Temporarily disable it to check if QuickBooks crashes persist.

  9. Repair QuickBooks: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select QuickBooks, and choose Repair to fix any installation issues.

  10. Contact QuickBooks Support: If the issue continues, reach out to QuickBooks Support for further assistance.

By following these steps, you can identify and fix the issue causing QuickBooks to crash on Windows 11.
