Dynamics 365 Portal add New button to give users the option to add new records for a lookup field on a portal form

I tried to follow these instructions: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/microsoft-dynamics-crm-forum/251741/enable-the-new-button-in-the-lookup-view-of-the-dynamics-365-portal/704077

But the "New" button does not appear on my portal form while logged in (even as admin).  When I opened the portal in the Portals Studio, the button does appear.  Looks like a rights issue?

When I click on the "New" button in Portals Studio, the form is not showing.

Any thoughts?

I think you are bumping into two issues here.

    1. The required permissions for the new table you target with your look up. If you add a create Table Permission that should make your New button visible.

    2. You need to include Forms of your new table an add them to your actions. See if this MS documentation helps. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/portals/configure/entity-forms

You can add metadata on any form and then select the buttons u want to appear and the associated forms. eg. New, edit, delete etc.

Note: "admin" does not automatically give you access to Tables that there are not Table Permissions to.  If your users Web Role does not have adequate Table Permissions against their directly assigned Web Role(s) or is inheriting from the Authenticated Users Web Role, you will need to create and attach an appropriate Table Permission to either a new or existing Web Role for your Portal User.
