Change Password in Portal Contact Form(Enhanced) not working

Hi,

I attempted to reset a contact's password using the "Change Password" option from the ribbon on the Portal Contact Form (Enhanced). While the network call shows that the password has been updated, the new password does not work when trying to log in to the portal. However, the old password is still functional.

Could you please assist with this issue?

Thanks in advance

Apologies, I just noticed that for some reason my dev portal was Standard Data Model

I created a new one using the Enhanced DM and I got the same issue as you

    A few notes here:
    • you might need to open a support ticket with Microsoft so they can check that button functionality
    • on another note, is there any reason as to why you are using Local Authentication on a brand new Portal? I would advise you moving the solution to B2C or Entra External ID
    • Local Authentication is great for demos / tests, but not ideal for production scenario

Change Password in Portal Contact Form(Enhanced) not working

    Hi Oliver,

I noticed that the hash field remains unchanged even after updating the password. However, the updated password is correctly reflected in the "New Password Input" column.

I’m using the Power Pages Management App to update the password directly from the contact record. Additionally, my environment is set to the "Enhanced Data Model."

    Thanks!

I just tested in my environment and didn't have any issues

Can you check via Solutions/Tables in make.powerapps.com if the field adx_identity_passwordhash actually changes value after you change the password?
