Microsoft Deleted my site

Microsoft deleted my site. They did a soft delete on may 28th. I emailed them on June 18th. I spoke via chat with them on June 20th. They said they could not find it and it must have been deleted. They came back and said they hard deleted on June 28th. We spent 2 years and 30k building this site(developer costs). They said they sent us warning email in may. We did not receive any messages as they were all bouncing. We did not know this. What options do we have

So in summary:

  • May 28: Microsoft soft-deleted the site

  • June 18:  I emailed support

  • June 20: You chatted with support; they said they couldn't find it

  • June 28: They confirmed a hard delete (irreversible in most systems).

  • Microsoft claims they sent warning emails, but you never received them because emails were bouncing

I am sorry for your lose there.

    My suggestions are the following

    1. I am hoping you were using Solutions for your Power Pages and that you have exported Versions both in managed and unmanaged, in which you can restore the Site (not the data)

    2. You can check if you have any Dataverse / Environment Backups and if so restore one of them that would have your Site and your data. You may or may not lose some level of data but its better than zero

    3. If you only care about the site, and if you paid a contractor, although they should NOT keep a copy of your site, maybe they did.. ask them

    4. do you have any other environments that you push too? You can grab it from there and work backwards (meaning take from Prod and put it back in dev, EVEN if its in a managed state only, there are ways to make it edittable again)

Other than that... You would have to really really have to beg push, borrow etc a favor from someone at MS who can in fact get it back. If its truly hard deleted and all the compliance and governance copies are gone and you have no solutions and you have no environment backups then there is nothing you can do.

I am sorry I hope that one of my suggestions helps you.

If so please mark the solution as such and again I am sorry :-( for your loss.

Were you able to use a backup or restore you loss? Do you have any other questions?

You asked what Options, I provided those, unfortunately I am not able to guarantee anything, but would appreciate feedback and as I answered what you asked, if you can mark as such.
