Copy File action failing: Source or Destination likely invalid. Check if item or destination has been deleted.

I have a Flow that used to work and started failing a couple of weeks ago. There is a Copy File action intended to copy a Word or Excel document (of no great size) from one SharePoint document library to another, on the same site. I'm consistently getting this same error:  Source or Destination likely invalid. Check if item or destination has been deleted. (Status Code: 400 ,  Bad Request)

I have tried deleting and recreating the Copy File action but error continues. Is something wrong with this configuration? The Identifier is coming from the trigger body - from the file that the Flow is running on. Is that not the correct value to put in there? Do I need a file path or something?

There's nothing happening immediately before this action other than a condition check, which works fine and returns true or false as expected. I have also tried sending the file copy to other sites and other libraries on the same site. Same error every time.

Hi, I'm running into the same problem, no matter what libraries I choose I just get the 'Source or Destination invalid error'.

I already have flows copying files to the source directory so I doubt it's invalid.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

You have found a good alternative workaround. But my test here is that the Copy action can complete its work normally. If you still want to solve this problem, please change the Destination Folder to another library and check if the action runs successfully.

Then you can add a Get file metadata action above the Copy file action and fill the Identifier to this action. If the file exists, the Get file metadata action should be executed successfully.

These two steps are to test whether the Source or Destination is valid.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

I still don't know what's going on with the Copy File action, but it seems I can work around it by doing a Create File action instead. I deleted the Copy File action and replaced it with Get File Content > Create File. Still testing but so far this seems to be a viable option.

@v-bacao-msft  Thank you for the suggestion. I tried making a test flow adding the condition to check for IsFolder = false. I'm afraid the results were the same. I am choosing the Destination Folder from the browser. I have tried different library locations -- and also entirely different sites, but I consistently get the same error. Ideas?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you please provide the screenshot of the Flow configuration?

Please try to create a new flow as follows:
