How to edit forms within Power Pages

Hi there,

I am creating a new Power App Portal (Power Page) website. I am trying to add a List Component to show the "Active Properties" view of my Properties table in Dataverse. I would like the user to be able to Add, Edit and Delete records using the default Information form of the Properties table that is created within Dataverse.

I have added a List Component to a Page inside the Power Pages console. When I edit the List Component and enable Create a new record checkbox. Then I am presented with a Target Type (where I select the Form option) and then I am presented with a list of forms to select.

What is confusing is that the list of forms that is shown does not correlate to any of the forms associated to the selected dataverse Table. I also do not understand where I should navigate to so that I can add, edit and delete records from this list of forms. They appear to be a Power Portal only concept but there is no intuitive way of accessing them.

Is anyone able to provide some information on this topic?

Kind Regards

    Hi, a few things here:

    • Using the "Information" form / "Active view" -> as a best practice, I would recommend creating your own dataverse forms and views and prefix them with something that indicates they are Portal related.. the reason for that is to better differentiate the components that are being used in the Portal from what's used in the back-end
    • I noticed that behaviour that you can't add a new form once you are creating/editing a List component - I will report this to Microsoft along with a few other things that I noticed recently
    • The workaround here is to add a form component to a page, and then remove then component from the page.. the form will now be available to be used within the list component
    • Ultimately you can always use the Portal Management App to have full access to all configuration of Portal components

    hope this helps
