We are trying to create a flow that will convert Word documents to PDF using OneDrive for Business convert file. It works for some files, but not for others and we are seeing a similar problem with Word Online, Desktop and through Teams. On the Desktop top Click-to-Run versions 2008/2009, we get the message "Word experienced and error trying to open the file." We appear to be able to open some of them on version 2007 and more on 2003. If we open them in 2003 and save them with strict XML formatting, they are saved using AppVersion 16.000 and PowerAutomate processes them just fine.
I would say the files are corrupted, but since they open fine in versions of word that are only a few months old, it seems that perhaps something has changed with Word and maybe support for older document versions? Just checking to see if anyone has heard of anything.
I've asked Microsoft this question and they currently don't have support - I'm going to suggest a action in flow to update the file from 2007/2010/2013 - 2016 - then you can convert from 2016 to pdf.
