We have this security group named "Sales Manager - Sec" (which does not have email address):-

and we are trying to add this group inside a "Grant Access to an item or a folder" >> now we can search for the group>> but if we select it it will not be populated:-

so can we add a security group which does not have an email address inside the recipients list for "Grant access to an item or folder" action ?

@ManishSolanki no this is not 100% correct.. you can from the UI add a security group to the SharePoint permission (site, list or item or document) even if this security group does not have any email address.. you can try it .. even in the picture you provided it mentioned that you can assign security group (without emails) to SharePoint!

For controlling access to SharePoint access and one drive, the group should be mail-emailed security group:
