Hello,
I have a powerapp, which I just use for launch to other apps. So our users just need one app on the homescreen to get to them all from there. I know you can do many mistakes to slow down an app, but this one has only two links and a timrelated changing greeting text in a label. Thats pretty it.
But it still need as much time to load as any other powerapp which has more function into it. Is there something I can do in the settings? That really put down the user experience! I know that powerapps starts slower then a native app, but that is so much longer, sometimes up to 10 seconds. I have C# written App installed as *.apk on a android, and it opens in max two seconds. So just blaming the slow Smartphone wouldn't be right.
Thank you very much in advance.
Best.
I don't know of any way to make that process faster for you. It could be security programs, it could be any number of things.
@JR-BejeweledOne now we come closer to my point. 🙂
Thanks for your comparison. When you said that your app basically starts as fast as other apps, that is really good to know.
Because the powerapps, no matter if I start them as a button in one app or start them in the launcher from powerapps directly is same slow.
I ask myself why. Maybe there are to many security programs which slows down the phone. but other android native apps are open very quick to compare.
So I use the Microsoft Power app that is available in the App Store to access and launch the Power Apps that I and others have created. I haven't found it to be particularly slow compared to other apps I access on my phone.
Each time your canvas app is opened, it has to retrieve all of the links for your buttons and the other things in your app. So using it as a launch pad to open other apps already has some overhead introduced into it.
I think you would be better off just using the Microsoft Power App launcher to access your apps. I think it would reduce your overhead and load time.
@JR-BejeweledOne I already said I'm using the PowerApps on the phone. Of course I'm not using the browser on the phone to open the app. I said the App that im using is just the entry app, with button and links to other apps. And even though that app just have button with a launch function to redirect to other another powerapp its still starting very slow.
I think you will get a better user experience on a Mobile Device if you use the Native Power Apps application created by Microsoft. Users will be able to see and use all the apps they have access to.
@JR-BejeweledOne yes, exactly. The app I created has two buttons with link and a launch() function to other apps.
Opening this simple app already takes forever, and isn't really faster in opening it compare to the others apps which has way more complexity. I hope there is a solution to that, so there is a much better user experience.
Best.
I read your question to mean that you created an app for the purpose of displaying links to other apps. I was just making sure you were aware that there already was an app designed for that purpose.
Yes of course, I'm referring to those created Apps which will be opened inside that PowerApps "Container"-App.
Otherwise what I might referring to?
Are you aware that there is a Power Apps app for phones that will display all the power apps a user has access to?
