Dear Microsoft Support Team,

We are experiencing an issue with our default Power Platform environment, which has exceeded the 3 GB file storage limit. To address this, we are reviewing and identifying unnecessary files for removal to free up space.

Could you please provide guidance on the best approach to:

  • Identify and analyze storage consumption, particularly large or redundant files.
  • Safely delete unwanted files while ensuring no impact on essential data.
  • Optimize storage usage and prevent future exceedances.

Your assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated. Please let us know the recommended steps or if any tools are available to facilitate this process.

Looking forward to your prompt response.

Best regards,

Renjeesh.

    Dear Renjeesh,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the storage issue with your Power Platform environment. We understand how important it is to manage your file storage effectively. Here are the steps we recommend to address your concerns:

    1. Identifying Storage Consumption:
      • You can use the Power Platform Admin Center to view storage consumption. Navigate to the Environments section and select your environment to see a breakdown of storage usage.
      • Additionally, consider using tools such as PowerShell cmdlets for detailed reports on file sizes, which can help identify large or redundant files.
    2. Safely Deleting Unwanted Files:
      • Before deleting any files, ensure you back up essential data. You can use the Export feature to create copies of necessary files.
      • Review the files identified for deletion carefully. Use the File Management options in the Power Platform to remove unnecessary files while monitoring data dependencies.
    3. Optimizing Storage Usage:
      • Regularly review and clean up storage by setting up a schedule for file audits.
      • Consider archiving older data that is not frequently accessed to separate storage solutions if applicable.
      • Utilize Microsoft Dataverse features that allow for data retention policies, which can help manage storage proactively.

We hope this guidance helps you effectively manage your Power Platform storage. If you need further assistance or specific tools to facilitate this process, please let us know.

Looking forward to your successful resolution of this matter.

    Best regards,

    steven
