Turn off HTML on new Mail Connector

Microsoft has deprecated the mail connector and is forcing me to use the new one, but they removed the HTML yes/no field with zero explanation as to how I'm now supposed to turn this into plain text.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/sendmail/

Would someone please tell me how I can turn off the html without the field there?  Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

I could not try HTTP with Azure AD so while this was not a solution for me, I'm marking it as the solution in case someone else comes across this.

Victor was able to solve my other problem with formatting the Response summary dynamic field, so now I no longer need this problem solved.

(SMTP had the same problem with the html code as the Email connector, and I was not able to access SendGrid.)

Regarding: Update:  have a look at SendGrid  and SMTP connectors.

Thanks, I will take a look . . . (I am also a liberal arts major so I run the SharePoint and Power Automate but I just kind of teach myself.)

I see, thank you.  And I do not have access to Premium connectors.  Believe it or not I have like 10 successful approval flows working for these departments in this way, but this is the first time I've had to use the Everyone must approve type of approval and there are not a lot of examples out there about how people handle the emails.  I am going to keep approaching it different ways and I will eventually find a solution if I approach it a new way.  🙂

Hi again @AntoinetteB , thanks for your detailed explanation.

Well I see only one possibility - using "HTTP with Azure AD" premium connector.

Update:  have a look at SendGrid  and SMTP connectors.

Re: Turn off HTML on new Mail Connector

Hi again.  No, I mean we can never use any Outlook.com or Outlook 365 connections.  At all.  Ever.  Why?  The Information Security team won't allow it.  So it's literally impossible to turn on any of those as I cannot connect to them.  I'm doing an Everyone must approve flow.  It's all working fine except for this one issue.

I have to use the Mail connectors for all my emails.  I have a choice of the 2 below.  The first one will no longer allow me to turn off the HTML.  The second one WILL allow me to turn off the html, but it requires me to put it into a for each action from Responses and sends out more emails than I want.  I tried to use out outside of for each but when I try to save the flow I get an error that it has to be inside a for each.  So I don't want to use that one.

I originally posted this problem https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Email-Formatting-for-Response-Summary-approval-action/m-p/912272#M128304 but no one responded.  So I figured out on my own that if I could use that Response summary field with the html turned off it formats correctly.  But then I ran into the problem I'm having now where I cannot turn off the html, and if I use the Inform requestor of approval it sends out a separate email for every approver and I just want one email for all the approvals.

Sorry if it's confusing, but I just need to know how to 1) turn off html in Send an email notification OR 2) figure out how to make Inform requestor of approval stop going into an apply to each that it sends a separate email for each approver OR 3) Figure out how to make the Response summary dynamic field format properly with the html turned on.

Solving only 1 of any of the problems above would help me.  Thanks!

OK, I can answer myself - you are talking about  "Send an email notification (V3)" and "Send an email notification" (deprecated).

What I really don' t understand  is  why did you say "My company does not have any Outlook connectors.

Do you mean you had some connectors some time ago ( and created a flow)  but now you haven't got  any? If so, why?

I have a meeting with my boss in 2 minutes but I will put in screen shots later.  If you can get to the link it shows you and I just edited my comment above to rename the exact connectors.  Thank you.

Hi @AntoinetteB, could you please let me know what exact connector you have used previously.

Re: Turn off HTML on new Mail Connector

Thanks, I do not understand your comment "manage a new thing behaves the same way as an old one."  It's a simple yes/no question they took out of the new connector for no good reason.

However, if I could change my flow I would not have asked the question in the first place.  My company does not have any Outlook connectors.  Zero, as in none and no Outlook connectors are available to me through Power Automate.  Ever.  And I don't have Premium account.  I have a choice of only the Mail connector I mentioned above, or the Mail connector for "Inform requestor of approval."  Only the "Inform requestor of approval" action allows you to turn off the html, but it also forces you to use an apply to each which I don't want as it sends too many emails.  So I'm stuck with the connector above ("Send an email notification (v3)") and I have to turn off the html otherwise the Responses summary dynamic approvals field will not format properly.

Since you have been kind enough to reply to me, can you tell me how to do any of these things?  I have 2 departments waiting.

    Hi @AntoinetteB

In  my humble opinion it's much easier to slightly change your flow than asking someone to manage a new thing behaves the same way as an old one.
