I have created an automated cloud flow that when a MS form is submitted the flow is initiated. I am trying to figure out how to go about doing maintenance on the flow in the future. Is there a way or setting that allows me to turn off the flow and new runs sit in a queue until I turn the flow back on and run in the order the form was submitted?
I think I'm thinking of flows using automatic triggers from the SharePoint connector. Those definitely queue up when the flow is turned off/disabled. I've got a few cases where there's a simple flos to just store form responses in SharePoint and then an automated SharePoint flow runs (when an item is created trigger), so in my head they kind of run together.
Hi,
I tried that originally and had people submit forms but when I turned it back on nothing started processing. Is it supposed to be instant? It is hard to find any information regarding this. I found two things. One stated that power automate was doing exactly like you said that forum was posted in 2022 and on the Microsoft site it states that no new flows will be initiated once a flow is turned off or deleted.
On the flow details page, you'll see a "turn off" link at the top. That will turn off/disable the flow. I haven't tried this in a while, but the last time I did, turning the flow back on resulted in the processing of the submission that came in while it was turned off. I'm sure there's a time limit for how long they'll stay queued, but don't know what it is. I usually just turn it off for a day or two at most.
