Sending an email to staff member for a specific service

Hi,

We are looking at making a flow that will do the following:

  • Email a specific staff member, with customised answers, when a student has booked e.g., Maths goes to Joe Bloggs and Chemistry goes to John Smith.
  • An email to be sent the day before with the list of the 8 students that have booked.

Not sure if this is doable or if it could be a possible future feature.

Any advice would be great.

Many thanks in advance.

SOrry, I can't tell anything from that screenshot, but I haven't used Bookings in Power Automate so don't know what the dynamic content would be selected for the name of the user.

Hi, I have got it working to a degree, apart from the last part. I'm not sure if I am missing something but when I have filled in the Equals*, Name and Value it is not sending the email to a staff member, it is sending it to the name of the service, please see the screenshot:

@GraceGarwood it should still work with the Bookings "when an appointment is created trigger". The rest of it from the initialize variable would be the same.

Hi @RobElliott I have noticed this is aimed at Forms, we are using Bookings.

Perfect, thank you for this Rob. I will give it a try this afternoon.

    Kind Regards,

@GraceGarwood For the first bullet point of your post, to have an email go to a different person based on the subject selected by the user you should use a Switch which is a type of condition that looks at just 1 thing, in this case the subject. There can be up to 25 "cases" for each Switch, i.e in case Subject equals Maths then do something, or in case Subject equals Chemistry the do something. Inside each switch you would have a set variable that saves the email address to send the email to. Then add a new send an email action action below the cases and for the To field select the variable.

A simple example of a Switch like this is shown below:
