Existing portal transformation to Power Pages

Hi,

I recently noticed that in power platform there is no "portal from blank" creation option and neither I can find the existing portal app with app type as "portal" in the list of applications. I assume it is because Power Pages have to be used now?

If that is the case how can I move all the data like Web Templates, Web Pages, forms, site settings etc from the existing Portal Management app into the new Power Pages Management app? and how can I configure the same site which was build on previous power portal on the new power pages?

I am bit lost. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi @Ugujjar70,

you can find most of the differences here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/educator-developer-blog/differences-between-powerapps-portals-and-power-pages/ba-p/3571229

For a migration you can have  look here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/admin/migrate-site-configuration?tabs=CLI

    Hope that helps.

    Hi @Lucas001

hmm.. Thanks for you time and replying to my query.

The place where I am stuck is that the Website is built in the DEV area using the Portal from blank. However now since Power Pages are to be used how can the same site be moved to be used in Power Pages. I am in same DEV environment and the transition first has to be done in the DEV and later can be moved to UAT/PROD etc.

There are now two model driven apps for showing portal management.

    1. Portal Management (Old Portals) prefix - (adx_XYZ)

    2. Power Pages Management (New) prefix - (mspp_XYZ)

    Hi @Ugujjar70,

unfortunately you will not find a button where you can just say upgrade to Power Pages.

Power Portals will still work as expected so you can stay with it.

Otherwise you will have to create your page from scratch if you want to have all the new options.

The problem as as you have already seen yourself, some tables have the old adx_ and some the new mspp_ prefix. Those tables will need an update when you try to migrate from portals to pages.

    Hope that helps.

hey there..I have the same problem. I havent worked on my powerapps portal in a while. now i cant find the App tto edit the portal. I can get to the advanced settings page and make changes there.

i also dont see the website when i launch the powerpages maker.

Did you manage to figure a way to edit or import the website into the powerpages maker app?
