Guidance Needed: RSAT Setup for D365 F&O UDE Instance via Power Platform Admin Center

Hi everyone,
 

We’ve recently updated our environment to a UDE instance using the Power Platform Admin Center.
Earlier, we used LCS to generate the RSAT certificate, but now we want to perform testing using RSAT in the UDE-hosted environment.
Could anyone guide us on how to set up D365 F&O to RSAT integration using the Power Platform Admin Center?
Any documentation or step-by-step reference would be very helpful.

    To state right out the gate, I wasn't sure there was a single document that explained this.
     
    So I asked Copilot to summarize my stuff and it was like ok
     
    To set up RSAT (Regression Suite Automation Tool) integration with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) in a Unified Developer Environment (UDE) using the Power Platform Admin Center, here’s a step-by-step guide based on the latest Microsoft documentation and community insights:
     
    So I am going to post what my documents say as a whole combining them with CP. Please check them carefully and I will answer questions for validation.
     
    Wow that pastes like garbage, but read them over, come back with specific questions and I will answer them as this is not exactly a super hard process but its like you need a checklist.
     

    Step-by-Step RSAT Setup in UDE via Power Platform Admin Center

     

    1. Provision the UDE Environment

     

    • Go to the Power Platform Admin Center.

    • Create a new environment using a Finance & Operations template.

    • Ensure the environment includes:

      • Dataverse

      • Finance & Operations apps


        •  

    • You must have:

      • A valid Dynamics 365 license (e.g., Finance, SCM, or Partner Sandbox).

      • At least 1 GB of Dataverse and Operations DB capacity. [learn.microsoft.com]

    2. Enable Power Platform Integration

       
     

    3. RSAT Authentication Setup

     

    Microsoft has deprecated LCS-based certificates. You now need to use Microsoft Entra ID certificate-based authentication:

    4. Install RSAT Tool

     

    • Download RSAT from Microsoft Download Center.

    • Install it on your local machine or test VM.

    • Configure RSAT to point to your UDE-hosted F&O environment.

    5. Connect RSAT to Azure DevOps

       
     

    6. Create and Run Test Cases

     

    • Use Task Recorder in D365 F&O to record business processes.

    • Save recordings to Business Process Modeler (BPM).

    • Sync BPM with Azure DevOps.

    • Load test cases into RSAT and execute them.

    🧠 Tips & Best Practices

     

    • Make sure your RSAT version is updated to support Entra ID authentication.

    • Assign the correct roles in Power Platform Admin Center (e.g., Power Platform Admin, D365 Admin).

    • Use PowerShell for advanced provisioning if needed:
