Hello,
I have a specific requirement regarding the customization of a model-driven form, and I would like some guidance.
Here's the situation:
Form Context: I need to hide the "New" button on a form. This form is part of a model-driven app, where a particular entity is linked.
Sub-Grid Requirement: The entity in question is also displayed in a sub-grid format within the form. For this sub-grid, I do not want to hide the "New" button. In other words, the "New" button should be hidden on the main form but remain available in the sub-grid view.
Workbench Alternative: I am aware of the solution involving the use of Ribbon Workbench for such customizations. However, I am specifically looking for an alternative solution that allows me to achieve this without the need to use Workbench.
Any insights or suggestions on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Thank you for your response and suggestion. In my case, the users should still have the ability to add records to the specific entity. Therefore, removing the "Create" permission entirely is not an option, as it would prevent them from creating records where necessary. My requirement is to hide the "+New" button only on the main form, while still allowing users to create new records via the sub-grid.
Do you know of any other approach that allows for hiding the button selectively, without removing the user's create permissions?
