Populate "Created By" Form Field with actual user, not app

Hi,

I'm trying to have a form work with an auto-populated "Created by" column in a dataverse table.

Whenever someone submits a form, however, their "Created By" field is auto-populated as # Portals [Site Name] instead of the user's name.

How can I get a unique user to be recorded?

You cannot do it for the out of the box Created By or Modified By fields.

What you can do is create, additional Contact and/or Account lookup fields on your Tables (name them what you want e.g. Modified By Portal User) and populate those with the Portal User (contact) and/or their parent Account - this can be done by configuring Metadata records for the respective portal forms (or Steps in a multistep form), can also do the same with the created/modified date-time.

set type = attribute and then use the Set Value On Save section.
(partially it can also be done with some settings on the Form definition "Associate Current Portal User" - but I prefer the metadata approach )

Ok - so I've created a text field called App_user and I've configured the metadata so it will set an attribute on save based on current Portal User. However, even when logged in, this field isn't being filled.
