I've used Power Canvas and Power Pages.

As far as I can tell, Power Pages are extremely primitive compared to Power Canvas.

No wysiwyg graphical editor

No power automate.

No powerFX expression.

The only thing it does better multiple authentications methods like Oauth, AD, ...etc

I am curious if Microsoft left these features out of Power Pages because it's easy to embed Power Apps in Power Pages with iframe or other reason?

With the Portal / Power Pages an external user does not need a powerapps licence explicitly assigned to them.

Different types of Apps for different purposes, based on different underlying technology stacks - the same as the functionalities of Model Driven App vs a Canvas App being different.

Its not features being left out, but features not added into it (Model Driven Apps and the Portal/Power Pages existed prior to the FX stuff).  The reason for not having most of the stuff you mentioned is probably history of the different Products and them being built/maintained by different Development Teams. Canvas Apps are the newest product offering and FX etc is coming out of that space for dataverse apps  - it has been slowly moving into Model Driven Apps.  Power Pages derives from Power Apps Portal (formerly Dynamics 365 Portal, and earlier AdxStudio Portal), the Portal existed before Canvas Apps etc and was for Dynamics CRM. (most of which you now know as Dynamics 365 for Sales, Service and Dataverse).

FYI: Additional functionality is coming for Flow (but note Flow already works for the Portal at the Datavese level but not as a button like you can in FX),, FX has only recently come into Model Driven Apps

    Hi @chuck3138

Double thumbs up from me for the detailed explanation @Fubar has provided. In addition, adding my two cents.

    1. Power Pages is the new brand name for the Power Apps portal. The history explained by Fubar is 100% trustable by all the Portals experts.

    2. The main purpose of Power Pages is to build the web app using a low code, no code approach. You can customise it to the maximum if you are good in Javascript, CSS and HTML. Of course, some JS Framework as well.

    3. Real-life examples used by various customers are Ikea, immigration NZ, ministry of Health, UK immigration, etc..

From the above, you can see how powerful Powerpages is already.

It has crossed the sceptical, primitive stage. Now it is in the investment era. With more power.

    Hope it helps.
