Embedding local web server's contents through gateway in PowerApps Portal's iframe component

Hi fellows,

I'm trying to embed local Kibana dashboard in "http://192.168.xxx.xxx:5601/app/kibana#/dashboard/[dsID]" as iframe object in PowerApps Portal. We already have on-premise data gateway working between PowerApps and Local environment.
When I tried to embed the above URL in Portal, warning appears as "Enter a valid link", and cannot embed the url.

#We're heavily using gateway on powerBI and know basic mechanism of how it works.

Is there anyone solved the issue like this? Thx!!

    Hi @SunnyTokyo ,

could it be, that you have trouble with csp/espeially cross site things and haven't set up the right things in portals?

May be this https://community.dynamics.com/365/b/dynamics365portalssupport/posts/http-response-headers-for-dynamics-365-portals  article by adam-pfau helps. So, may be you content is blocked by the browser as portals (as far as i know) hand out same-origin policy by default in those things.

    Hope this helps,

      Christian

PS how do you insert the iframe? I usually do it with a liquid template so i have everything under control. No idea, how editing functionality works when creating pages. May be while creating content (copy for example), the iframe stuff is removed. There were questions suggesting, that ids are removed from inserted stuff. So, there could be some kind of logic in the editor or a plugin. This is the reason, why i prefer my personal templating for that 🙂

Hi, Christian. apologies for the late reply.

It's now clearly a reason from browser side isse of "allow-from [url]" won't  be rendered in chrome, as you mentioned.

For the inserting iframe into powerapps portals, you can do that from makepowerapps.com with edit mode --> select component --> choose iFrame from the left pane menu.
