Getting notification when Power BI Dataset succeeds/Fails

Hi

I'm trying to create a flow that will:

1) Check changes on SharePoint folder where I post my data.

2) Update the dataset once SharePoint folder is updated

3) Send email when a power BI data set update fails or Succeeds.

Step 1 and 2 works fine.

Step 3 I'm not sure how to setup the condition. I tried below, but It's not working. The condition I put below fails and not sure what to use as condition

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Please refer to this blog and see if it helps:

You can set "Configure run after" to do different operations after Refresh a dataset action fails or succeeds.

@v-bacao-msft I used "Configure run after" however, It does not work at all.

I set up Configure run after a dataset refresh failed, then sends a notification. The flow also shows up succeeded, no matter the refresh result is.

I think not only me, there are many people got the same issue Here

We are also not able to send the success and failure notification if we trigger the Power BI dataset refresh from Power Automate as the "Configure run After" is not working for us.

Power Automate is working. It is reporting that the operation to trigger a Dataset refresh was succesful. There is nothing out of the box that will say if the refresh it'self was a success or failure. There may be some way to get a data alert to mimic this operation though.

    Has anyone found a solution?

Yes: 1. Create metrics in your workspace

           2. Connect metric with any measure from your dashboard that should change its value after refreshing

          3. Create automate flow with trigger = "When a goal changes"

          4. Choose your metric (goal id) and set polling interval
