Unable to stop external user registration in azure ad b2c in powerapps portal

Hi Team,

I have configured azure ad b2c with powerapps portal, but my project requirement is that external users can't register only invitation based registration .

I have configured 2 flows in azure - signup, signin flow and password flow .

I have disabled openregistration in portals that stop registering the external users in portal ,and redirect to redeem invitation page as blank invitation code.

But when I go to azure and check the user ,so that external user is registered in azure.

Can anyone help me out that how I can restrict the external user to stop registering in portal as well as in azure ?

Urgent !!!

    Hey @DeepikaJain555

Did you follow any articles or official docs? can you share it here? Also, You can use some site settings to disable registration completely but it is related to local login. There are a few other settings that we can look at it. But I need the link to verify what you have implemented.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi @ragavanrajan @Fubar  ,

I have already disabled the  external registration in PowerApps portals with the below settings :

Authentication/Registration/OpenRegistrationEnabled and set value to â€˜false’. When I try to register externally, it redirects me to the page  and asking for invitation code

But when i go to azure and check the details of the user then that user is registered in azure directory but not in powerapps portals.

can you please let me know how we can stop registering the external user in azure ad b2c?

Please help for this issue ....Its URGENT!!!

    Hi @DeepikaJain555 ,

    Try set this to False

    Authentication/Registration/Enabled

If set to true, enables user registration, if set to false users cannot register

I think what you are asking for is for your B2C to be closed to anyone but a known User.  This is not the way that the Portal and B2C usually work.  Need to remember that for the Portal,  B2C is an External Identity Porvider (no different than saying you can login with your that Facebook account because we have allowed Facebook to be an External Identity Provider)

I think the easiest way to achieve what you what would be to use Local authentication rather than B2C, this is easy to setup so only invited Contact records can access the Portal (this option does not have any B2C).

If you have to have B2C, I do not have the level of knowlege of B2C to give you a definative answer, but suspect that you would have to restrict the ability to register on the B2C side of things based on some thing customized  (on the B2C side) that verifies details against the DataVerse,  or you push Contact detals from DataVerse to B2C (using something like Microsoft Graph API) to setup the B2C user with a default password (that you then merge that password into your Portal invite email) and have them reset the password on first use.
