The screen shifts to the far right.  It would be nice to have it take up the full screen

Yes.. just learning that I don't have control of things like I did when I developed on Lotus Notes.  My company is making us migrate all our notes apps and this is a learning experience

Did I answer your question satisfactorily here? It might not be the response you were hoping for but I believe it does clear things up.

    Yes, that is expected.

The screen you are showing is a Data Entry Only screen.  It does not show the SharePoint list, only the specific item being edited.  Unfortunately, this same behaviour cannot be replicated on the SharePoint list screen.  Its just how SharePoint is...

When I use flow to send email and click link back to it.  It is on the left side and more full screen?  Its not consistent.  Looks one way when entering the data smaller and on the right. then link back and is on the left and larger.

You are using a SharePoint custom form so this is not possible.  It will always be on the right-side no matter what.  This is simply how SharePoint is designed.  To have a "fullscreen" app you would need to make a canvas app instead.
