SharePoint - User unable to access SharePoint list with Edit Permissions

I gave a user Edit permissions for a SharePoint list however, when they try to access the list it is showing the message that they need permission to access the list.

I do not want to give access to the site.

Hey, just want to rule out one stupid thing...

They are trying to access a general link to the List, they're not just refreshing the link that says accessDenied, right?

Because the acccessDenied link will keep saying the same thing even if the person has been eventually assigned the correct access level.

Hi,

I cannot remember but I believe I would have told them to close and reopen a tab to try and access it. This issue also may have been resolved without changing anything given the person did notify me that they were able to access the list.

Not 100% sure but maybe that was the reason. Thanks for the response FG-18100917-0

1. Have the user try clearing their browser cache or attempting to access the list in a private/incognito browsing window. CTRL+SHIFT+R

2. Edit permission was correctly assigned to the user for the specific list and not just for the site. To do this, navigate to the List Settings → Permissions for this list,

3. ven if a user has Edit permissions on the list, they also need View or higher permissions at the site level. Ensure that the user has at least Read access to the overall SharePoint site.

Thanks SaiRT14 for the suggestion. Given that the issue was resolved on its own I would not be able to try your suggestions to clear browser cache or trying to access the list in a private/incognito browsing window. Regarding the permission I know I did set the permission to Edit the list and did not give them Editing permissions to the site.
