Used PowerApp Template for SharePoint List and the PS List does not update

I used the template option to create a PA that references a SP list.  When the PA was created it did pull the correct data into the PowerApp to start.

- If I edit or add data to the SP list inside of the Power App it does not reflect on the SP list itself. The edit/new entry does show in the PowerApp
- If I add something to the SP list it does not show up in the Power App. Even if I refresh the data in PA the data the edit/new entry from SP list is not shown in PA.

It behaves as if it has created a whole new list and the initial SP list was just a reference but I do not see a new list created on the SP site.

The commands for the "New" and "Edit" are listed below.

NEW

When you click new it does clear the right hand section to allow for entries.
IF you hit check mark the data clears and new entry is added to left hand pane.

EDIT

I am sure it is a simple fix but I am just missing it.

Thanks,
Rich

You need to look at the Data option in Power Apps Studio to see which SharePoint list it is accessing.

Geesh!  The data connection is going to Dataverse now vs my SharePoint list.  I looked at this previously and thought it was SP connection and totally overlooked it.

I added SP list back and will tweak the PA to get these errors to go away

I am trying to duplicate your steps to help you out. I have generated an SP List and created the same App Layout in Power Apps.

You may just need to Refresh your SharePoint List data source. Go to Data - find your SP List - and click Refresh.

Unless you have made changes to the App, your Gallery and the Form to the right in the layout should both be connected to the same SharePoint List.

If you click on the Gallery and select "Items", you should see something similar to:

When you add a new item in the SP List from SharePoint, does that item show up in the Power Apps Gallery? I did a test where I added an new item to the list in SharePoint. If I typed in the "Search" field in the App, the Gallery refreshed. I had given my new item a specific Title. I typed the new Title into the Search field and the Gallery filtered to that item.

If for some reason none of this is working for you, can you check the number of items in the list? You can do this by going to SharePoint, showing the ID column, and sorting the ID column descending. The ID number of the most recent item will often give you an indication of the number of items in the list. If you are below 500, the the number of items in the list is probably not causing an issue. If the number is greater than 500, reply back here.

If none of this helped, reply back here and the forum can try to help you further.

@MarkRahn - If I create a blank Ap and add SP list it stays
When I try to use Copilot to create it converts the list to a table in dataverse.  If it would just use the List as the connection it would be fine.  :)
I created another way and it did the same thing but I do not remember the steps I took as that was a couple days ago.

Are the changes to the data not reflecting correctly in the published app or in the Editor Studio?
No changes to any datasource are ever dynamically updated within the editor. It grabs the current dataset when you start editing an app and does not refresh until you restart the editor or manually update your datasource.

This makes more sense now. When your app was created, it duplicated your SharePoint List to a Dataverse table.

Did you used the "Import a SharePoint list (preview) as a starting point? Or something else?

I just duplicated what I think were the steps to where you are. I added my SharePoint List into the App and removed the Dataverse Table. There are a lot of things to fix or correct. What is even more difficult is that the controls are locked so the manual process is pretty slow.

How far are you long with your app? It might be better to start fresh with the Source being the SharePoint list.

From building a new app, select "Start with a page design".
Select "Gallery connected to external data".
Then select "From SharePoint". This should build you an App that is close to what you had before with SharePoint as the data source.
