Hi:

I'm considering to use PowerApps.  I'm a developer but I've never used it before.  So this is my use case and will really appreciate it if someone can tell me if this is possible.

1. I have a SQL database on premises that has data for deliveries for our drivers

2. I would like to have just the subset of data they'll use on the app for that day.

3. The app will only update delivered Y/N, timestamp and the driver's name and of course display data about the loads.

4. The only data they could add are pictures of dropping off the delivery when there's no one to receive it. I already have that table in SQL and is linked back to the main drop.

5. When they are in the road and have a network connection it will sync back that information to the Dataverse see comment below.

I read that I could link a SQL table to the Dataverse. So I'm thinking maybe have a way to drop the subset of data into a Dataverse table and when they  arrive back to the shop have it sync back to our on premise database.  I don't mind them pushing a button in the mornings before leaving to get the data and pushing it again when they are back to sync to our SQL database.

I would really appreciate any advice before I decide to go the PowerApps route.

Thank you

I would not use dataverse, you dont need to.. Build a Canvas App, talking via the Data Gateway to your SQL Server

Easy peezee. Don't add the overhead of dataverse.

If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

    Cheers

Thank you for the reply @FLMike.  So my guess is that I can do offline even if I use a SQL table. Correct? Thank you again.
