File System - Append file; appending text to file not correct

Hey all,

Have created a flow and wanted to add some verbose logging to a local log file as it runs for better tracking.  I have it connected to my local server using the On-Premises Data Gateway using the File System connector.  When I use the Append File, I use a string in the "File Content", but when it appends, it does not append the text, it appends what looks like Chinese or garbled characters.  Any assistance would be great.  I have looked up the MS doc on the connector, but didn't see anything helpful: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/filesystem/#append-file

Thank you

Ben

    Hello, @subarunut!

Well, honestly I don't really know why it's changing the language. You could check if Power Automate hasn't change the language configuration, or if the text is corrupted. Maybe recreating the flow to see if it's a bug.

    Cheers,

    Rodrigo

If I find something that might give us some insight on why this is happening, I'll be sure to post it here!

You could try going to the MS Flow Portal here https://flow.microsoft.com/ and checking if your language configuration is set to English.

I think I just found a way around it.

So I added a get file content to read in the file, then instead of appending the file, update the file:

I also convert the string to binary

The output formatting could use a little massaging, but at least the data is there and readable.
