Does PowerApps Portal supports version control? If multiple people working on developing one PowerApps portal, what's the best practice for sharing and co-development?

    Hi @lizzha

I am sorry to say, currently, the Powerapps portal doesn't support version control.  Regarding multiple people working on Portal is possible, only if you plan and split your tasks properly and your team needs to agree to press the "Sync Configuration" button at periodic interval or after they complete their tasks.

    Additional:

For version control, Arpit has written a good article to configure via Azure DevOps, Adding reference for your kind attention

Also, from @OliverRodrigues , additional tips for your reference.

    Hope it helps.

I read the article https://arpitmscrmhunt.blogspot.com/2020/05/powerapps-portals-automate-portal.html . It's good to know how to backup the portal configurations. Does it support pushing the configuration changes from local to PowerApps Portal?

@lizzha  Not sure if this is relevant anymore but MS has released version control feature + enabled multiple developers to work on canvas app simultaneously. You can find more information here https://amanvarama1.wordpress.com/2022/01/10/power-apps-enable-multiple-developer-and-app-makers-to-work-simultaneously-on-a-canvas-app-part-1/

amanverma - thanks for the heads up here.

This is really important that they're taking version control seriously, it's the reason why so many low-code solutions fail.

Low-code IS software development, and things will get complex and need proper VCS with merges.

Next stop is hopefully a VSCode editor, and local testing tools 🙂

...oh and VCS/git for power BI please please please!
