Functionality to import/export csv and generate pdf

Hi,

I am new to power pages. I am contemplating developing a new solution using power pages. There are a few requirements that I want to validate

1. Import and export data from csv

2. Generate pdf files

3. Get data from 3rd party APIs

Is there an ability to write custom code or out-of-box functionality that I can use to achieve the above three requirements in power pages?

Out of the box you can configure Lists to export to Excel (not .csv), uploading you can do via a Field type of File or a Notes attachment - you would have to build or use Flow for any processing that you needed of the uploaded file.

PDF - not out of the box, but it is possible, we currently have a client that makes use of the 3rd party free JavaScript PDF generator and does it portal side. Have also seen someone make a call to a Web Services and have it push the PDF back. If it is not time sensitive, you can generate on the DataVerse side either by using third party tools, the Word Template to PDF feature (subject to the correct licencing) or via Flow.

The issue with 3rd Party API's is the security side of things, if they are Public (no login required) then you can make Ajax calls to them, if not the current mechanism would be to make use of the Portals Implicit Grant flow https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/security/oauth-implicit-grant-flow
in the future you may be able to make use of Flow securely (currently in Preview).
