Is there a way to have a power page/portal act like a sandbox 'type' in a sandbox environment?

I made a ticket with microsoft asking if there was a way to have a power page/portal to have a 'sandbox' type? Currently I only see there is Trial (30 days) and production. However, when you create an environment there its a trial, sandbox, and production under types. Is the only way currently in 2024 after all these updates, to delete and re-export the portal as a solution every 30 days? This seems tedious and having to remember to do it every 30 days or it will delete.... can you extend the free trial?

    Hi,

Steps to Create a Power Pages Sandbox Environment
    Create a Sandbox Environment:
    1. Navigate to the Power Platform admin center.
    2. Select Environments and then New.
    3. Choose Sandbox as the environment type and configure it as needed.
Provision a Power Pages Site in the Sandbox Environment:
    1. Once the sandbox environment is created, provision a Power Pages site within it.
    2. Navigate to Power Apps > Create > Portal from blank or select an existing template.
    Configure the Sandbox Portal:
    1. Treat this portal as your development and testing site.
    2. Deploy and test changes here before moving them to the production environment.
    Use Solutions to Move Changes:
    1. Develop and configure your portal in the sandbox environment.
    2. Export the configuration as a solution.
    3. Import this solution into your production environment to ensure consistency.
    Implement Regular Backups:
    1. Regularly back up your sandbox environment to avoid data loss.
    2. This helps in maintaining a stable testing environment.
    Extending the Free Trial
Currently, there is no direct way to extend the trial beyond 30 days through the Power Platform admin center. However, you might consider contacting Microsoft support to discuss your needs. In some cases, they might offer extended trials or alternative solutions based on your scenario.

    Hope this helps

Basically you setup a Sandbox Dataverse environment and then install the portal, and then turn the portal into a production portal (i.e. your environment is still Sandbox and your portal is Production). You can keep the portal in Private mode to further restrict access.
