Configure Email Confirmation with Local Sign-In

Hi there,

I am using Local Sign-In for my Power Pages website. After I successfully register, I want to be able to confirm my email address.

This button right here, does nothing. As I searched in other threads, it lead be to this process: Send Email Confirmation To Contact. As suggested, I turned it off, and changed the "From" property from Owner(Contact), to a Service Account, and then reactivated the process.

Then I went and to my website and tested again, and nothing happend.

Is there anything else I need to change, in order for this to work? The local account is created with my personal Yahoo email, could that be a problem? For my website, I need the user to be able to create an account with any type of email.

Any suggestion helps! Thank you.

Have you enabled the Exchange integration with Dataverse and also enabled the mailbox of the Sender? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/set-up-server-side-synchronization-of-email-appointments-contacts-and-tasks

    Hi @Fubar ,

Yes I enabled the mailbox of the Sender. I put my Outlook email for testing in the "From" field, but still nothing.

As for the "Exchange integration with Dataverse ", I don't know where to look for this. Could you help me check this out?

To send email out from Dataverse, the email server (e.g. Exchange) needs to be integrated, and also the user or queue that you put for the sender needs their mailbox approved in Dataverse. For Exchange see

Here are my Email Configuration Settings, as recommended:

I have also Approved my email from Dynmaic 365 , with "Approve Email"

And I also enabled it from Power Pages Management too.

Still not working. Am I missing something? Maybe the workflow is not triggered from Power Pages, when clicking the "Confirm Email" button.

    Hello,

So I found the solution. I will walk you trough the steps I followed in my debugging process:

1.First, I changed the "From" field to my personal Outlook account

    2. Then I went to my portal, clicked on "Send Email Confirmation" button, and then I checked the "Process Sessions" of the "Send Email Confirmation To Contact" Process. Here I saw that the process was failing.

    taraubianca25_1-1719404117161.png

I clicked on the process, I saw the following error: "The user ... selected in the From field does not have the option enabled to allow other users to send the email on their behalf. See https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=2007131 "

    3. To fix this, I had to go to "Gear Icon -> Advanced Settings", here i entered my Dynamic 365 Setting page. On this page go again to the "Gear Icon -> Setting -> Email tab"  and check "Allow other Microsoft Dynamics 365 users to send email on your behalf."

Here the link to the documentation:

    Hope it helps! 🙂
