App Version Number

I was wondering what the usual pattern is to save an application version number of your product (not the version number of the power platform). Would saving a hard-coded string to a configuration table in the Dataverse be a good option? What about environment variables? Keep in mind that we would be exporting the whole solution and giving it to the client for each update.

Generally, when you export a Solution it will have a Version number (this number is visible in the Solution list and history).

For .Net code always update the AssemblyInfo.cs file values for AssemblyFileVersion, AssemblyVersion before you compile it.

Thanks for the quick response. I would like to display this on the footer, how would I do that through fetchxml / javascript?
