Is there any official migration guide for old Power portals users to new Power pages?

Hello,

We are using the old power apps portal in our DEV, SIT and UAT environments, but now we cannot create new instances of old Power portals. The UI is not showing any option to create the old power portals always opening the new power pages UI.

Does MS shutdown the creation of old portals completely? I saw they have changed the entity names prefixes to mspp, so can't just move it directly.

Is there any official migration guide from old power portals to new Power pages?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @power_user_420,

as you already saw power portals are now old and new instances of power "webpages" can only be created via Power Pages. You will still be able to access your portals but pages is the new way of creating webpages with the power platform.

Unfortunately I have not yet found an official way to migrate old power portals to power pages.

I can access the portals I have created previously, but cannot create new one. Always redirecting to the power pages UI.

    Hi @power_user_420,

you will only be able to make power pages.

Power Portals are no longer the way to go. Accessing the old pages is working for now.

Is there any reason why you would like to use the portals and not the new pages?

    Hi @power_user_420

Adding my two cents, name prefixes to mspp is only for the "Enhanced data model". Your existing Power Apps portal will use the same prefix. So you do not worry about your automation tasks.

    Hope it helps.

Thanks @ragavanrajan . This is exactly what I was looking for. I need to turn the enhanced data model checkbox off.

For anyone looking for this, you can find this by following the below steps -

    1. Go to Admin center.
    2. Go to Environments.
    3. Select the environment.
    4. Go to Resources > Power Pages sites.
    5. Disable the Switch to enhanced data model toggle.
    6. Now when you create a new portal, it will create it the old Power Portal with entities prefixed adx_ instead of new Power Pages site with mspp_ prefix.

Note - I recommend doing this only if you are working with older version already. If you are creating new portal from scratch it will be better to go with Power Pages.
