Rich Text Editor Issue?

Hello,

I encountered an issue with the Rich Text Editor a few days ago, as it no longer seems to be functioning correctly. The editor appears blank without any controls, and additionally, the mouse cursor keeps jumping out of the text area after each keystroke.

Initially, I observed this problem in the Dev environment, while the QA and Prod environments seemed unaffected. However, I've now noticed that the other environments are experiencing the same issue.

Have any of you come across this problem as well? Any quick fix to it?

Hi @Jamesx,

it seems like a problem I faced some time ago.
Unfortunately the "fix" was to wait for Microsoft to change something in the backend.

When did the problem occur for the first time? There were some changes made over the weekend which could effect the rich text editor. My proposal would be to write a support ticket or wait till end of the week. It hopefully is fixed than.

I have already created a support ticket with Microsoft.
The support team tried a couple of settings for RTE but it didn't resolve the issue. They need more time to investigate.

What is the data model you are using standard or enhanced?

What is the version of the msdyn_RichTextEditor solution in your environment? I believe the 1.0.0.2737 version has an issue.

I heard from Microsoft, they are rolling out a fix to the Rich Text Editor this weekend.

I couldn't find a solution named msdyn_RichTextEditor in the env.

The msdyn_RichTextEditor shows under Settings > Solution History, search for "richtext".

Found them.
env 1: 1.0.0.2699 installed on 9/9/2023
env 2: 1.0.0.2735 installed on 9/25/2023
env 3: 1.0.0.2737 installed on 9/21/2023 (Prod☹️)
3 different versions, and they all have the same issue.
So Microsoft does updates even user does not request any updates. 🙂

No fix from Microsoft support yet.
