How to add canvas app as an icon in Windows desktop?

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to build a canvas app with offline capabilities. One of the requirement I'm looking for aligned with this is add the canvas app as desktop shortcut, so that user can directly open it without navigating through Power apps or browser. Is this possible in Windows 10? Also, is the same possible on Android/iOS?

Please share your suggestions.

Hi @Drrickryp

Thank you for the suggestion. This will certainly work, although it is not what I'm looking for. When we add a shortcut using weblink, it will point to browser version of the app where offline mode is not supported. The idea behind adding app shortcut is to enable user to access the when he's offline as well. Is there anyway to achieve this?

Go to make.powerapps.com

Select the app and click on the ellipsis and go to the bottom and select "Details"

go to the web link and copy it.

open the shortcuts by right clicking a blank part of the screen

paste the web link in the box, click next and give it a name

Voila!

You can also send the mobile qr code as an image to a colleague who can then open the app on their computer or mobile device.
