Hi, everyone,
Our method of account creation in Power Pages is by invitation. In the Invitations column, the Assign-to-Account column is a lookup column to the Accounts table. Understandably, it gets the different Accounts from that table. Also, looking at the relationships section, it has multiple connections from Contacts to Invitations v.v. but there seems to be no identifiable column in both tables that carries the relationship.
I have a situation where a contact needs to relate to multiple accounts. Therefore, I need multiple Assign to Account columns in the Invitations table. My idea is:
1. Create multiple company names (lookup column) in the contacts table
2. Create multiple assign-to-account columns in the invitations table
3. Modify the invitation form, reflecting the newly created assign-to-account fields
4. ....
^ now, the dilemma is how do I redirect these newly created columns in the Invitations table to the newly created columns in the Contacts table?
Assign to Account -> Company Name (original)
Assign to Account 2 -> Company Name 2 (newly created)
so on...
How do I do this?
It sets the Contact's paraent account field. You probably do not want this to occur in your scenario, so don't use it. It is not required, and you would generally only use it where you do not have your Contact already linked to an Account record and you want it to occur via the Invitation.
(create a new many-to-many relationship, manual or native depending on your exact requirements, between Account and Contact, and create Table Permissions based on it to give your portal users access to multiple Accounts)
