Hi, thanks for your times here 🙂

I'd like to create one UI that can collect vendor's lab data, data include the data table, waveform picture etc.

then the collected data I'd like to pull into powerBI for analysis or for future AI application.

trying to do some study, I am not sure if power page is suitable tool for my need. may please share your thought ?

not sure if power page + azure data lake is the best solution or not.

Thanks in advance !

    Hi @Venson

Are these users that are submitting lab data external users? If so Power Pages would probably be a good fit.

for more guidance from the community. You may need to reply with more information on what the issue you are facing is.

    Thanks

Yes, Sir. we have to collect vendor's or 3rd party lab test result.

hi @Venson technically speaking is a good fit, yes. A few things to consider:

    • Licensing - do you have an idea of number of users that will sign in to the Portal and have you compare costs with any other solution?
    • Database - Power Pages relies (and depends) on Dataverse, do you already have Power Platform / Dataverse / D365 in your organisation? If yes, or if you were already considering, then Power Pages sounds like a good option
    • UI/UX - what is the effort required on this element? Power Pages is very flexible but there are some restrictions as well
    • Configuration VS Extension - have you looked at what Power Pages can offer OOB and how much you would have to code on top of that? This may also indicate the effort involved in the project

    Re: Collect lab data

    Thank you Sir!

Database- My organization got power BI premium workspace, and company got Azure service already. now I am trying to work with IT on it.

Licensing- I guess it would be around 50~100 people, will that be a big issue ?

UI/UX- I just get start and have not yet to experience it due to company block my storage account (can not build a  azure dictionary, working on it), but thanks for your reminding !

Configuration VS Extension - may I know what is VS extension and OOB you mentioned ?

Apologies in advance for the long reply 🙈

Configuration is a term we use for low-code configuration of OOB components (OOB = out of the box), this is usually the likes of Lists / Forms for example in Power Pages.

Extension is when there are limitation to the OOB components and you need to apply code to meet your requirements, this might be heavy on JS code for example.

For you to understand this, it's important to understand native capabilities of the Power Pages and how to configure it, I always recommend building a POC to make sure it suits your needs.

You can create a developer environment where you can use as playground: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/developer/create-developer-environment

This series of video from my friend Arpit is very helpful as a starting point as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDy58Qi7vKU&list=PLJXMFihzhj53rwha4h7smb7nW-oSFWzfL

    hope this helps
