Hello Community!

I have two dropdown controls, one inside a form and the other outside the form. I would like them to the same appearance.

Please look at the two images below.  Do you see the white dotted lines on the selected item?  What property in the controls these white dotted lines?

Thanks for your help !

Thanks @StalinPonnusamy  I see how the combo box provides greater functionality.  Great response.

Thanks @jbrit2020 !  Goes to show I have lived up to my username Newbie.

I was wearing myself out trying to understand why there was a difference in between the properties of the two controls.  It is so easy when you know.  Thank you!

    Hi @Newbie150

You can decide whether you want to use Combobox or Dropdown to have similar appearances. By default, Form uses Combobox. We can customize it to have a dropdown by unlocking the control.

Here are the major differences between the two controls

    ComboBox

    • Combobox allows users to search for an item
    • Users can select one or more items (We can configure to allow only one)
    • It supports multiple layouts (a single data value, two values, or a picture)
    • StalinPonnusamy_0-1632497851784.png
    • Allows to display image

      On the other hand Dropdown
    • Users can select from the list ( No Multi Selection and No Search)
    • Good for a smaller list

The box with the dotted lines is a combobox, the box with NO dotted lines is a dropdown box, hence the difference in design
