Very basic power pages questions

Hi I'm currently obtaining access to power pages, I'd like to get some feedback on if what I intend to achieve is - A - possible in power pages or B - its the most appropriate tool.

I would like to create an online form that allows users to submit data - that is validated and to also do a lookup to a SQL database, select a record and return certain information about that data.
I'd ideally like to the output this data that can be delivered to a team to manage.
