Microphone control send stop command.

While I have a microphone control on a canvas app, I would like to start and stop the recording from another event (select in a gallery) to trigger it.
I looked at the
 
select(microphonecontrol);
 
option, but it triggers the on select event (if it is not recording).
 
Is there a way to control it from the code somewhere?

    Microphone control send stop command.
     
    I just started playing around with the Microphone and sadly it doesn't have a Start property (like Timer control) which could let us trigger it from another event like you want. 
     
    Assuming you want to record an audio for the Selected Item in a gallery (I could be wrong), how about you place the Microphone inside the gallery. This way whenever the user will press the Microphone control, the user will record the audio for that selected Item.
