How to Auto calculate the custom invoice grand total from invoice details line when saving

We are creating a custom entity table for invoice main form and invoice details form. However, we are not sure how to auto calculate the grand total in the invoice mail form when user trying to add a new line item or edit an existing line item. We are thinking of trying out the event but we are not sure how to proceed from there.
