Cant access entity from Portal

My portal solution depends on an external contact being able to read campaigns they are linked to and responses that their contact record is also linked to (field mapped from one to the other). The contact relationship is custom. The contact can read the Campaign (list and form mode) and they can see the related response entities in a list.

However, when they try to open the response entity they get the following error:

We're sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again, and if this persists, contact the website administrator. Error ID # [e1624f91-0f75-4c21-8b9e-902762cbc987]

I've given entity permissions across the solution (read only) and added to a web role, entity permissions are enabled on the form and the list and I am just totally lost as to what the issue is. The form (for the response) is a simple tab with mostly text fields but with 2 lookups to the Account and Contact (which will always be linked to the logged in Contact).

Anyone understand what is going on here?

Peter.

Hi, can you disable custom errors so we can see the real exception that is being thrown?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8QxoyOIzAc

also, do you know if you form contains any field with toggle-switch or PCF controls, etc? Some fields are not supported by the Portals and you would get that error message

Also worth double checking entity permissions for the contact and account. These will be required for the lookups. Something I tend to forget sometimes...

Thanks @olm - didn't realise I could do that. However, error isn't that helpful - Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: Sequence contains more than one element. Thanks @francomusso1 - I think I am ok on those - I did realise earlier about the lookup permissions. Weirdly, the other day the error was 'record not found'.

Still none the wiser (no change there with Portals).

    Peter.

And no custom controls either. Just a single tab from a form.

Okay, seem to have fixed it. On the form, i changed record source type to Query String. Record ID parameter to ID. Now the records open. I honestly don't understand why that works on this list but not on other record types which don't use this option? Relieved but not 100% satisfied as I can't explain the difference.

Hi, what was the Record Source Type before your change? Also what was the Entity Form mode?

If it was an Edit or Read-Only, this is expecting an ID of the record so it can retrieve the record you will open in your form. Normally you would set that as "Query String" and have the parameter as ID.
