OCR Email Attachments and Use extracted data

Hi Power Users

I am trying to create a Flow for a customer of mine, but im stuck. I cant get it to work.

They are looking for a system or solution that can receive pick lists by mail which then contains a *.pdf-file. The system should read a number in that *.pdf-file, copy and paste that number into the subject field of a new mail, and forward the *.pdf. The incoming mail should then be distributed to 3 different mailboxes.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Thanks!

    Hey @Anonymous

Apologies, I've been in meetings most of the day... if you ping support@encodian.com they are available 24x7 and are very quick to respond.

The error message is generated because there is not file being sent to the 'Encodian' action, see below:

This is nothing specific to Encodian, this would happen to any action which is expecting a file and a null value is sent.

Can you check the output form the trigger and check the attachment is present?

Tried to use the Encodian and I get an error also:

Used the Encodian "Extract Text Regions Utility":

Pased in the results as part of my "Extract text from Regions" and did a test. It says suceeded but the output gives an error :S

Tried to Finalize the Flow and gets this Error:

My Entire flow looks like this:

    Hi Jay

    Thanks for your answer.

I cannot get it to work and I got some questions. Yes I am new to Power Automate:

    - Encodian: I understand that I can Extract Data From Regions on pages. But what if the specific "Unit Number" is in different positions each time an attachment is received? I understand from your guidelines that it looks for a number within the given Encodian Text Region.

    - Power Automate: Tried this solution also as I think it is nice that I can use another of Microsofts product without having to buy the Encodian product (Currently Using Trial to get API).

I have trained my documents, published them and I am able to use the trained Model in Solutions - My Solution - New Flow:

Am I on the correct path here?

Again Thanks for your help. Its really appreciated!

    Hi @Anonymous,

There are a few options for this...and my comments assume you're receiving a pick list via an attachment.

Your flow could be built as follows:

    1. Trigger the Flow when a new email is received
    2. Use the Encodian 'Extract Text from Regions' action to obtain required data via OCR, or you may also wish to use Power Automate AI Builder
    3. Send Email with incoming attachment to required locations

    Basic example below:
